Reverend Arthur L. Raney, Jr.

My Story

Rev. Arthur L. Raney Jr. Is a native of Bossier City, La. born October 28, 1968. He accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of twelve in Temple Baptist Church were he gave Pastor Alvin Kimble his hand and God his heart. After graduating from Bossier high 1986 pastor Raney attended Northeast University in Monroe, La. By the influence  of his family he moved to Oklahoma City in 1989 to look after his sister.

Upon uniting with the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. A.G. Woodberry, he submitted to God's call on his life to the ministry in 1999.

 

Rev. Raney attended American Christian College and Seminary and was blessed to train and serve at Mt. Olive where he was immediately introduced to the demands of ministry by serving as Associate Minister, Youth Coordinator and minister over Eutychus Society. He became involved with the National Baptist Convention of Christian Education and National Baptist Layman's Movement. 

As an associate for ten years Rev. Raney served faithfully exercising his gifts teaching Sunday School, Wednesday night Bible study, prison ministry. Rev. Raney also led the church in special prayer services during Pastor Woodberry's illness. A very faithful and humble man who always followed leadership. 

In April 2012 God appointed Rev. Raney to the Senior Pastorate at Hillwood Missionary Baptist Church in Spencer, Oklahoma. Were they are excited about the gift the Lord has given them in this dynamic man of God. Through his leadership, ministries have been birthed and membership has increased tremendously. He always reminds Hillwood what God says in John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples,  if you have love one to another."

Rev. Raney currently serves as:

- 1st Vice Moderator of EZCDA 
- Board of One Church One Child 
- Spencer Chamber of Commerce
- Founding board member of S.O.A.R, Advocate for the incarcerated and have been active volunteer in prison ministry with D.O.C for over 20 yrs.
- Founder and CEO of OVM service advocating for homelessness. 
- A member of Oklahoma Baptist Ministers Association
- NBC USA Inc.

Pastor Raney's preaching, teaching, and living of God's Word continues to inspire those he touch.

 

Pastor Raney is happily married to Ursula D. Raney for 34 yrs and has three sons, Steve, Dominique, and DeAngilo and four grandchildren Rehianna, Kylah, Kobe and Khoree.
